Can’t See Underwater - Maybe You Need A Prescription Scuba Mask

Published by aceang under Scuba Diving Gear

By Greg Deskin

The first question you must ask when getting a prescription scuba mask is; do you really need one? At first this might seem like a stupid question, but underwater you will experience a 25% magnification as the light bends going from water, through the glass lens, through the air space in you mask and finally to your eye. This magnification means that some individuals do not need underwater lens correction. The second reason you might not need a prescription mask is you might be considering wearing contact lens.

Selecting the Right Air Compressor for Your Air Tool

Published by aceang under Scuba Diving Gear

By: Kaitlin Carruth

An air compressor is used to power air tools such as spray guns, air sanders, air wrenches, air hammers, and much more. While not as widely used, air tools are more powerful than traditional electric power tools. Air tools offer more torque and RPM than electric tools not to mention that they are significantly lighter (since they do not have their own individual electric motors) which makes them much easier to handle. Air tools are also less expensive, more versatile, and longer lasting. Overall, an air tool accomplishes a task more rapidly and effectively. … Continue Reading »

Basic Scuba Diving Gear You Will Need

Published by aceang under Scuba Diving Gear

by Aazdak Alisimo

For many years divers were forced to wear bulky gear in order to work underwater. In modern times, bulk is out. Now diving gear tends to be thin and light. Thank God!Scuba diving gear is fairly simple, but it is also very essential. There is little margin for error in diving and safety considerations require that the gear used is equal to the task. The first piece of gear is the basic mask. The mask has the purpose of forming a small space for the air to be held for breathing. It also serves to provide vision and keep the water from the eyes and nose. A good mask must fit tightly to form a seal capable of keeping the air in and the water out. It should also be made of scratch proof glass or plastic in order to provide clear vision.

Published by aceang under Scuba Diving Gear

By Peter Hansson

If you are planning to try your hand at scuba diving, then you must have had a lot of realizations. One is that scuba diving is not as easy as it seems. Considered formally as a sport, scuba diving is not like other sports because it requires not just strengthening of a particular body area but rather overall wellness and fitness.
